What is Homeostasis?

On our site and in some of other of our posts, we talk about the correlation between CBD and Homeostasis, but some of our readers don't know what homeostasis is. Maybe you have heard of it but don't know exactly what is responsible for. Here is our guide on the basics of homeostasis in our bodies.

Homeostasis is a key concept in understanding how the human body works. Basically, homeostasis is a system that regulates our internal environment and tends to maintain a stable constant condition of properties. Homeostasis is happening constantly in our bodies. When we drink, eat, play, have salty food doesn't matter our body remains almost the same. If someone were to draw blood from you for ten days of a month, the level of your glucose, sodium, and other components would remain pretty much constant, regardless of your behavior. No matter how much water you drink, your body doesn't swell up, if you don't drink and it doesn't shrivel up. Have you ever thought about this?

Somehow our bodies know how much fluid we need to sustain and how to maintain constant levels. The maintenance of our body is an example of homeostasis. We don't even have to think about this for it to happen! There are plenty of other examples as well.

For example, our concentration of salts and glucose is constant, our temperature is usually around 98F, the amount of blood in our bodies is about 10 liters. Things like this are what’s regulated by homeostasis. But what happens when homeostasis if off? You would probably feel it right? Well, that's the awesome thing about CBD or Cannabidiol. Studies have shown that CBD Oil can help with things like helping your body regulate. Our CBD comes either in our CBD Broad Spectrum or Full Spectrum CBD.
